I made a life hanging decision when my dog Sir Samwell and I relocated from Toronto, Canada to care for my elderly parents for over five years in the small prairie town of Virden, Manitoba, where I grew up. The love of family surmounted my fulfilling career as a speech language pathologist together with my study and performance of classical opera.I gave a recital, sang at Ottawa Opera and the chapel at the Crystal Cathedral in Los Angeles, California.
I was fortunate to attend the London Academy of Dramatic Arts in London,England.
My love of the performing arts was recognized when I received the Canadian Governor General’s medal for classical singing. The performing arts will always be a major part of my life.
My love of all animals was evident even as an infant. This trait has and will remain dominant in my life. I was privileged to have been Sir Samwell’s guardian for seventeen years. He taught me everything I know!
I was a facilitator of a Pet Loss Support Group as well as being a member of a Support Group for Amputees. My passions are the caring and protection of animals together with ending violence towards animals and women. I also advocate for gender equality throughout the world.
I was a victim of a near fatal automobile accident which resulted in the severing of my left arm at the elbow, punctured lungs, a broken hip, damaged vocal cords and a brain injury.
I was not able to sing ,walk or write legibly. It was recommended that I be placed in a facility instead of returning to my home. I really was not expected to live, but due to my stubborn diligent and never ending fight I have recovered to live independently in my home following two years of rehabilitation.I am also blessed to be able to sing and perform, which I was told would never happen due to the vocal cord damage. So I say never ever give up!
I am the author of a book titled “Eggs on the Wall —-For the Love of Family”
Presently the book is in the hands of a writer from the New York Times who requested a copy of the book for review
My aspiration and vision to write about my family, sharing the challenges we faced is to encourage and inspire readers to create dreams no matter how difficult, in spite of age, declining health, or facing huge obstacles that seem impossible to overcome. I urge everyone to stretch themselves beyond their comfort level to do all they can to fulfill their highest purpose striving for no regrets. I affirm you will make it if you grasp your faith, precious pets and family, nothing else is sustainable.
The words of the book state the more we support each other the more content we become, as when one person wins we all win.
I ask that we let go of hate all over the world. Instead allow love to be victorious in all of life’s trials. In doing so you will never fail, because love always triumphs.
